About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Retain co-broker small employer group accounts by maintaining client and health insurance carrier representative relationships
  • Suggest new lines of coverage and identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Manage the renewal process for assigned clients
  • Meet with clients and/or producers to present renewals and supporting documents
  • Gain acceptance of renewals or commitment to explore alternate options
  • Provide information on carrier administrative procedures and product availability
  • Direct clients in selecting appropriate group products
  • Follow up on service issues and renewals
  • Build and maintain client and carrier relationships by phone, email, and in person
  • Enroll clients in Employee Benefits communication tools and demonstrate their use
  • Introduce resources to new and existing clients at renewal
  • Conduct group meetings and webinars to educate customers about company services
  • Maintain knowledge of company products, processes, insurance markets, products, and legal environments
  • Resolve conflicts, solve problems, and provide timely client feedback
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to customer satisfaction
  • Represent company services professionally to support sales and company growth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active Life & Health License is required
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in small group employee health benefits
  • Strong knowledge of carrier plan features, benefits, and underwriting guidelines
  • Understanding of insurance products, preferably attained through working with a group health insurance broker or carrier
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook Exchange
  • Proficiency with web browsers, especially Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of internal and external personnel
  • Ability to read and comprehend carrier plan features, benefits, underwriting guidelines, and Company guidelines
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships
  • Ability to determine when issues need to be escalated
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • English language fluency required
  • Ability to sit, frequently speak and hear, occasionally stand, walk, bend, crawl, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs.
