About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer GitHub Enterprise Cloud at enterprise and organization level, including settings, organization structure, teams, roles, and permissions
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID integration, including SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, Enterprise Managed Users, join/move/leave lifecycle, and access reviews
  • Define and enforce repository governance through rulesets, branch protection, required reviews, CODEOWNERS, commit signing, and repository policies
  • Govern GitHub Apps, OAuth apps, personal access tokens, deploy keys, and third-party integrations
  • Configure and operate GitHub Advanced Security, including CodeQL, secret scanning, push protection, Dependabot, and security reporting
  • Design and codify platform infrastructure as Terraform modules
  • Design and operate GitHub-hosted, larger, and self-hosted runners, including Actions Runner Controller on Kubernetes or Azure VM scale sets
  • Implement OIDC federation to Azure and manage pipeline secrets, environments, approvals, and protection rules
  • Implement software supply-chain controls including dependency review, SBOM generation, artifact attestation/provenance, and pinned action versions
  • Design and maintain reusable GitHub Actions workflows, composite actions, and workflow libraries
  • Administer Azure DevOps and lead Azure DevOps/GitHub migrations or coexistence strategies
  • Define branching, release, and versioning strategies with development teams
  • Build integrations between GitHub and enterprise systems such as Entra ID, ServiceNow/ITSM, Azure Monitor, Teams, and security tooling
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures, runner issues, and platform incidents; act as escalation point for GitHub-related production issues
  • Develop scripts and internal tooling using GitHub REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Evaluate and pilot AI-enabled development capabilities, including Copilot, AI agents, and MCP services, with appropriate guardrails
  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, architecture decision records, and developer onboarding guides
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with architects, security engineers, and business stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or software engineering roles
  • Experience administering GitHub Enterprise Cloud or Server at organization or enterprise level in a multi-team environment
  • Experience designing, building, and supporting production CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, including state management and module design
  • Experience integrating source control platforms with an enterprise identity provider using SSO/SCIM
  • Experience working within Agile development teams
  • Knowledge of GitHub Enterprise administration, roles, permission models, rulesets, branch protection, CODEOWNERS, and repository governance
  • GitHub Actions workflow authoring, reusable workflows, and runner management
  • GitHub Advanced Security, including CodeQL, secret scanning, and Dependabot
  • GitHub REST and GraphQL APIs and GitHub CLI
  • Audit log, security overview, and enterprise reporting experience
  • Secrets management and pipeline identity using OIDC federation and Azure Key Vault
  • Azure DevOps administration and Pipelines
  • Containers and container registries; familiarity with Kubernetes for runner hosting
  • Git internals and branching/release strategies
  • Scripting in at least one of Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to explain platform and security decisions to engineers and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • English language fluency required
