About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients seeking help with their finances
  • Build trust with clients and provide an empathetic, calming presence
  • Use active listening to identify appropriate resources and support
  • Determine how best to help clients and ease their concerns
  • Connect clients with Credit Counsellors or other resources when appropriate
  • Receive training and support to address clients’ initial financial questions
  • Reach out to clients who submit online inquiries and complete the intake process
  • Fulfill administrative tasks supporting clients during their relationship with CCS
  • Work with clients as an important part of their financial journey
  • Participate in periodic in-person meetings or events as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • One to two years of customer service experience required
  • Call centre experience preferred
  • Availability to work variable shifts, typically between 8:30 am and 8:00 pm Pacific Time
  • Occasional early morning availability required, such as 5:30 am
  • Rotating Saturday shifts, averaging one per month
  • Professional and empathetic manner
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to connect with clients and convey information accurately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Genuine desire to work as part of a team and help people
  • Positive, can-do attitude and solution-focused approach
  • Ability to adapt to change and work well under pressure
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to switch between tasks quickly and occasionally manage simultaneous conversations
  • Fluency in English required
  • Fluency in French is an asset
  • Successful candidates must be eligible to work in Canada
