About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as an intermediary between clients participating in a Debt Management Program, their Credit Counsellor, and creditors
- Manage a caseload of clients
- Assist with the onboarding process at the start of clients’ programs
- Support clients throughout their debt repayment journey
- Follow up with clients and provide encouragement when challenges arise
- Celebrate client achievements, including successful debt repayment completion
- Work collaboratively with creditors
- Advocate for solutions that meet clients’ needs throughout the Debt Management Program
- Secure creditor participation in the Debt Management Program
- Review and process relevant financial documents
- Work as part of a team supporting clients experiencing financial challenges
Requirements
What you’ll need- Post-secondary education preferred
- Two or more years of customer service and administrative experience required
- Previous banking/financial industry experience preferred
- Availability to work variable 8-hour shifts scheduled during operating hours of 5:30am–6:00pm Pacific / 8:30am–9:00pm Eastern
- Ability to adapt to change and work well under pressure
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Professional and empathetic phone manner
- Active listening skills
- Ability to convey information accurately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to negotiate with multiple parties
- Fluency in French is an asset
- Successful candidates must be eligible to work in Canada
