About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather project information and requirements and set priorities
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and production estimates
  • Evaluate and interpret construction drawings
  • Prepare construction budgets from construction plans and project specifications
  • Identify and project costs for each elevation
  • Evaluate purchase offers by costing changes, additions, and site requirements
  • Obtain and negotiate bids from vendors and subcontractors
  • Maintain cost keys and price masters
  • Resolve cost discrepancies through information collection and analysis
  • Prepare special reports on information and trends
  • Follow organizational standards to maintain quality service
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs across corporate, division, and local teams
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies
  • Coordinate with Project Management to develop proposals
  • Coordinate with Construction Management to develop production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequence
  • Contribute to team efforts and accomplish related results as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; 8+ years preferred
  • Must have concrete estimating experience
  • Quality focused
  • Tilt up and commercial flatwork experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Strong budget and documentation skills
  • Vendor relationship management experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, plus Adobe
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling
  • Ability to develop and manage teams
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues and make strong decisions
  • Current driver's license
  • Travel less than 25%, with potential travel to meetings and job sites as needed
  • Must pass physical exam
  • Must be a US Citizen
