About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather necessary information and requirements, set priorities, and prepare work for estimation
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for materials and labor to develop accurate production estimates
  • Analyze construction drawings and interpret specifications
  • Prepare detailed construction budgets by reviewing plans, updating specifications, and identifying phase-specific costs
  • Evaluate purchase offers, cost changes, additions, and site requirements against budget constraints
  • Obtain vendor and subcontractor bids, specify materials, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing
  • Maintain cost keys and price masters and resolve cost discrepancies through data collection and analysis
  • Prepare reports summarizing cost data and project trends
  • Adhere to organizational standards and procedures
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across corporate, division, and local teams
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and standards
  • Collaborate with Project Management on proposals
  • Coordinate with Construction Management on production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequencing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; 8+ years preferred
  • Experience in construction estimating, concrete, tilt-up, commercial flatwork, and the data center sector
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong budget and documentation skills
  • Vendor relationship management experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus Adobe
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling
  • Ability to develop and manage teams
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Quality-focused
