About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather information and requirements, set priorities, and prepare work for estimation
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for materials and labor to develop production estimates
  • Analyze construction drawings and interpret specifications
  • Prepare detailed construction budgets and identify costs for each project phase
  • Evaluate purchase offers, cost changes, additions, and site requirements against budget constraints
  • Obtain vendor and subcontractor bids, specify materials, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing
  • Maintain cost keys and price masters and resolve cost discrepancies through data analysis
  • Prepare reports summarizing cost data and project trends
  • Maintain service quality according to organizational standards and procedures
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across corporate, division, and local teams
  • Keep current with industry trends, technologies, and standards
  • Work with Project Management on proposals and Construction Management on production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequencing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; 8+ years preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Strong budget and documentation skills
  • Vendor relationship management experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
  • Working knowledge of Construction Scheduling
  • Ability to develop and manage teams
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Strong decision-making skills
