About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise clients on complex accounting policy under US GAAP and IFRS, including consolidation, VIE analysis, derivatives, revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, impairment, troubled debt restructuring, bad debt and loan loss methodologies, and foreign currency accounting
- Lead client projects addressing operational accounting issues, monthly close streamlining, external audit preparation and facilitation, and Finance, Planning & Analysis improvements
- Lead finance and accounting transformation projects, including accounting and operational process improvements, financial reporting, and board and management reporting in highly regulated environments
- Advise corporate accounting functions on SEC reporting, financial restatements, correction of errors, 10-K and 10-Q filings
- Assist clients with technical accounting issues and implementation of new standards, including ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 326
- Lead projects supporting complex transactions, including due diligence, post-closing balance sheet settlement, carve-out financials, and integration services
- Manage complex client engagements, including work plans, staffing, budgets, progress monitoring, and quality control review
- Lead strategy, goal setting, and maintenance of integrated project plans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Law, or related field
- 8 years in technical and operational accounting and financial reporting roles
- 8 years performing financial transformation or reporting for clients within highly regulated environments
- 6 years overseeing teams and communicating autonomously with clients and internal stakeholders
- 5 years preparing Audited Financial Statements under IFRS, including implementation of accounting standards (ISAs, IASs)
- 3 years in financial planning and analysis, including budgets, forecasts, reconciliation of actual to budget, and variance analysis
- 3 years preparing and presenting financial due diligence for investors and financiers
- 2 years of experience with a ‘Big 4’ accounting firm, including performing and managing financial statement audits
- 2 years preparing Audited Financial Statements under US GAAP, including implementation of ASC accounting standards
- 1 year implementing financial reporting software
