About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients in the Business Transformation practice
  • Support Procurement Transformation projects involving Source-to-Pay technology strategy, purchasing process improvement, operations performance enhancement, change management, program and project management, AI, and data analytics
  • Deliver strategic sourcing events by analyzing spend, developing strategies, conducting RFPs, evaluating bids, building business cases, and securing stakeholder alignment
  • Support and lead transportation sourcing engagements, including carrier bid processes and freight market analysis
  • Guide client freight strategy, including mode optimization, fuel cost reduction, insource-versus-outsource decisions, and logistics cost reduction initiatives
  • Identify and analyze business challenges to improve procurement operations and their connection to finance and accounting
  • Contribute Source-to-Pay lifecycle knowledge and best practices
  • Assess Procurement operations and identify transformative change initiatives through procurement analysis
  • Drive third-party spend analyses to identify trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Lead workstreams contributing to procurement capability, process, and operations maturity assessments
  • Build procurement opportunities into prioritization frameworks and transformation roadmaps
  • Develop data-driven business cases for transformational change programs
  • Assess and escalate project issues, risks, and conflicts while suggesting resolutions
  • Support internal initiatives, thought leadership, and practice-building activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of professional services consulting experience required
  • Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm background preferred
  • Additional industry experience within a strategic sourcing or procurement function is a strong plus
  • Direct experience executing transportation and logistics sourcing in consulting or industry, including one or more of: FTL, LTL, intermodal, freight brokerage, or managed transportation services
  • Familiarity with transportation market dynamics, carrier management, freight cost benchmarking, and bid process design and execution
  • Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Contract Management, Procure-to-Pay Process, Item Cost Analysis, Supply Chain Risk Management, Basic Financial Modeling, Accounts Payable, Process Optimization, Change Management, Performance Improvement, and Project Management
  • Ability to lead moderately complex client working sessions and presentations
  • Foundational client relationship management skills and desire to participate in the sales process
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Suite; Lucid Software and/or Power BI experience is preferred
  • Ability to responsibly explore and adopt firm-approved AI tools, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot
  • Openness to learning and applying emerging technologies, including AI and automation, in alignment with firm policies and client standards
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Supply chain, procurement, or logistics designations or external certifications are preferred
