About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead, mentor and grow a team of cloud engineers, driving product vision and roadmap
Contribute individually with hands-on code and architecture
Lead backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products
Leverage and build cloud-based systems to detect targeted attacks and automate cyber threat intelligence production at global scale
Brainstorm, define and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams
Drive technical direction and make architectural decisions for the team
Work in a startup-like environment with a small fast-moving team
Re-evaluate the product to improve architecture, user experience, performance and stability
Own work autonomously in a high-trust environment
Ensure high availability of critical cloud services, including on-call duty

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of experience in cloud and systems programming (preferably Go, alternatively Python / NodeJS / Java / C#)
3+ years experience leading engineering teams
Experience working with remote teams and individuals while ensuring agility and code velocity
Experience with the design of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and event-based architectures for runtime systems at scale
Ownership, responsibility and professionalism
Strong cross-group collaboration and interpersonal communication skills working with a variety of roles including engineering, product management, support and sales engineering
In-depth cloud knowledge in at least one of AWS, GCP, or OCI
BS or MS in Computer Science or related engineering discipline
Experience with Docker / Kubernetes or similar
Ability to learn quickly and independently
Experience with AI-powered developer tools
