About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to audio-specific game systems in collaboration with audio designers, technical designers, and programmers
- Build Python tools to improve audio-team workflows, with code review and support from the Senior Technical Audio Designer
- Learn and use WAAPI
- Collaborate with the audio team on implementation of sound effects, music, and dialogue
- Maintain technical documentation for tools and systems
- Reproduce and triage audio bugs with the QA team
- Participate in code reviews and one-to-ones while developing knowledge of the engine and audio pipeline
- Grow into owning audio systems end to end
- Build larger Python and WAAPI pipeline tools
- Serve as a technical contact for audio designers
- Contribute to performance and memory optimization
- Work with engine and game programmers on audio features
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience implementing audio in a game engine
- Knowledge of Wwise and the Wwise Authoring Tool; personal projects, game jams, university work, and mods count
- Ability to write Python
- Portfolio, reel, or GitHub showing audio work, tools, or both
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to non-technical developers
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Positive and constructive attitude
- Love and passion for games, sound, and music
- Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt am Main, Germany
