About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with Product, Engineering and business teams to turn questions into analyses, metrics and data models
  • Deliver ad hoc deep dives, recurring KPI reports and dashboards
  • Define, validate and document KPIs with stakeholders and help teams use them consistently
  • Build and maintain tested, documented data models and ELT transformations with the Data Platform team
  • Create curated datasets, dashboards and templates for self-service analytics
  • Take metrics and models from prototype through production and ongoing maintenance
  • Streamline analytics practices across analysts through shared modeling conventions, metric definitions, code review, onboarding and coaching
  • Prioritize requests from multiple teams while balancing urgent needs with reusable data assets
  • Identify gaps in data, instrumentation or tooling and work with Engineering to close them
  • Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in a data role (analytics engineer, data analyst, BI engineer or similar)
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills, with experience with large datasets
  • Hands-on experience implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations using SQL, dbt and Spark (PySpark), with Git version control, tests and code review
  • End-to-end understanding of data flows from source events and ingestion through warehouse models to dashboards, including tracing and fixing issues upstream
  • Experience with a cloud data warehouse (Redshift or similar)
  • Python for data processing, analysis and automation
  • Experience with BI tools and enabling self-service analytics
  • Ability to turn loosely defined business questions into clear analysis and actionable recommendations
  • Good judgment on when a quick answer is sufficient and when to build a durable solution
  • Experience working with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Experience rolling out shared metrics or analytics practices across several teams
  • Experience setting standards for or mentoring other analysts
  • Experience with data quality testing or observability tooling
  • Familiarity with metrics-layer or semantic-layer tooling, such as dbt Semantic Layer, Cube or Looker
  • Experience with AWS data services, such as Athena, Glue or S3
  • Effective use of AI-assisted development tools while keeping code and models maintainable
  • Experience with product, telemetry or network data
