About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support facility planning, programming, and pre-design deliverables for technical laboratory and specialized facility projects
Collaborate with clients, user groups, subject matter experts, consultants, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders
Gather project requirements, operational needs, and planning objectives
Participate in stakeholder interviews, workshops, site assessments, and planning sessions
Develop and document space programs, operational requirements, infrastructure considerations, and project constraints
Prepare presentations, reports, planning narratives, meeting minutes, and executive client deliverables
Analyze existing facilities, technical infrastructure, operational workflows, and space utilization
Organize project documentation, action-item logs, decision logs, and planning records
Support development of high-level project scopes, budgets, schedules, and implementation strategies
Conduct research and quantitative analysis to evaluate planning alternatives and support decision-making
Communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
Support preparation of consultant scopes, RFQs, and planning-related procurement documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS in Construction Management, Engineering, QS, Architecture, or related field
2-5 years of experience in Architecture, engineering, facility planning or design consulting
Demonstrated understanding of building systems, facility infrastructure, laboratory environments, or technical building design
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Proficiency with design software including AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, BIM tools, or similar technical software
Proficiency with Google Workspace tools
Experience preparing technical reports, programming documents, feasibility studies, or facility assessments is preferred
Interest in planning and development of complex technical facilities, including laboratories, research environments, and other specialized building types
Occasional travel to client sites as required
