About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design solutions, coordination, and production through all project phases
- Build project teams with the Project Manager and support team growth
- Lead collaboration with healthcare clients, facilities teams, and clinical users
- Own technical aspects, including code review and resolution of special code conditions under CBC/Title 24, FGI Guidelines, and NFPA
- Lead communication with HCAI and other local AHJs, including plan review submittals and comments
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and the specifications team
- Lead design and validation of building envelope systems
- Direct on-time QA/QC and ensure complete, high-quality architectural documents
- Lead construction administration, including site observations and verifications
- Identify project risks and raise them with the Project Manager and Project Executive
- Support or lead pursuits by preparing proposal and interview content and joining client interviews
- Apply regenerative thinking to the built, social, and natural environments
- Maintain responsible control over technical submissions when signing and sealing documents
- Use MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Revit/BIM 360, Rhino, Enscape, and Lumion
- At the Senior level, manage multiple project leaders, mentor design staff, lead pursuits and internal programs, and shape firm-wide detailing and documentation standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Project Architect: 5+ years of architectural experience
- Senior Project Architect: 10+ years, including leading large, complex projects
- Healthcare project experience required, including acute care hospitals, ambulatory and outpatient facilities, medical office buildings, or renovations in occupied facilities
- HCAI/OSHPD experience strongly preferred, including OSHPD 1 and/or OSHPD 3 projects
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture
- Architectural licensure preferred; strongly preferred at the Senior level
- Strong working knowledge of CBC/Title 24, FGI Guidelines, NFPA, and accessibility codes
- Advanced Revit skills and understanding of construction documents and envelope systems
- Experience coordinating multi-discipline consultant teams and leading construction administration
- Clear communication with clients, agencies, and contractors
- Collaborative, team-first mindset and genuine curiosity about doing good work
