About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Transform the current data infrastructure
Design, build, and manage the presentation layer for reporting and analytics, data science, and other consuming applications
Collaborate with IT team members and business stakeholders to identify data sourcing requirements
Empower business users with a modern platform for rapidly gaining insights through data
Mentor, support, evolve, and grow a team of data engineers
Develop and empower a team building high-quality data pipelines
Develop technical data solutions for long-term growth
Design, develop, implement, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain systematic data delivery
Ensure data and information are delivered successfully for organizational reporting and analytics
Create data migrations, processes, and designs supporting data analysis and reporting
Perform data analysis and profiling of raw data sources
Guide and direct support and development resources
Coordinate activities with BI and IT team members
Assist with project identification and effort estimates for ETL development of new data sources
Provide requirements and guidance for a platform blueprint, templates, and engineering guardrails
Design pipeline automation for proactive fault detection and mitigation
Evaluate new tools, techniques, and strategies for high-quality data delivery
Initiate documentation, knowledge-sharing, and operating procedures
Assist with training end users to acquire necessary data
Report directly to the VP of Data Strategy and Governance

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of experience with data ingestion and transformation tools including SSIS, SSMS, Azure Data Factory, Azure, Synapse, DBT, DataBricks, and Snowflake
10+ years using advanced coding languages including SQL, Python, and PySpark
7+ years of experience managing a team and leading projects
Familiarity with CI/CD and source control processes and tools such as Azure DevOps and Git
In-depth knowledge and experience with data management and BI strategies, principles, and practices
Experience with data quality, data governance, stewardship, and metadata management frameworks
Knowledge of data analysis, data modeling, relational databases, and reporting tools
Knowledge of real-time reporting, historical reporting, and advanced analysis
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Management Information Systems, Data & Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or another related field
Healthcare experience in Medicare/Medicaid is a plus
