About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process payroll accurately and timely for a designated group of outsourced clients
  • Prepare, review, and maintain payroll records and related documentation
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements
  • Serve as the primary client contact for payroll-related questions and inquiries
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with payroll audits by gathering information, preparing documentation, and responding to requests
  • Monitor changes in payroll laws, regulations, and industry best practices and apply updates
  • Maintain accurate and confidential payroll information while providing high-quality client service
  • Collaborate with clients and internal team members to resolve payroll issues
  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned clients' payroll needs, processes, and requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
  • A few years of professional work experience demonstrating the ability to manage responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a professional environment
  • Previous payroll experience is helpful but not required; willingness to train in payroll processes, regulations, and systems
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Dependable and accountable, with commitment to following through and meeting deadlines
  • Highly organized with strong time management and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn, with ability to quickly understand and apply new information
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Positive, service-oriented approach and willingness to take ownership of client needs
  • Must be local to the Watertown, New York area or near the office; relocation is not provided
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
