About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Become an expert on the company’s online diagnostic and instruction program and Common Core product, focusing on ELA or Reading
  • Coordinate on-site product training and professional learning courses for teachers and school administrators
  • Adjust professional learning workshops within specified parameters to fit participant needs
  • Deliver professional learning courses to teachers, coaches, and leaders on implementing Ready and i-Ready
  • Provide tailored on-site support, including lesson planning and pacing support, data analysis, instructional application, and implementation analysis with leaders
  • Participate in an internal cycle of professional improvement and development, including observation, feedback, and coaching
  • Track and submit detailed training notes and complete assignments promptly
  • Present a professional image to customers and prospects
  • Support districts throughout the Midwest, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia
  • Work with the Associate Manager or Manager of Professional Learning, sales team, and other Curriculum Associates professionals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimally, a Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2+ years of experience teaching ELA or Reading, coaching teachers of ELA or Reading, and providing ELA or Reading professional development
  • Strong working knowledge of Common Core State Standards for ELA or Reading for Grades K–8, or comparable state standards
  • Fluency using digital tools including online assessments
  • Comfort discussing and applying data with teachers and leaders
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and their application to professional development
  • Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Exceptional time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer and internet skills, including Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an educational cohort
  • Must currently live in, near, or be open to relocating to the Cedar Rapids area
  • Must have own transportation
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight stays and transportation by car, plane, and/or public transportation
  • Out-of-state travel may be required
  • Bilingual and biliterate English/Spanish preferred
  • Master’s degree in ELA or Reading preferred
  • Knowledge of online meeting programs such as Zoom/WebEx is a plus
