About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute a territory growth plan throughout the Greater Hudson Valley region
- Prospect and cold call to generate new business opportunities
- Build relationships with utility, construction, municipal, telecommunications, tree care, and contractor customers
- Conduct customer visits, equipment demonstrations, and solution presentations
- Promote CTOS's new and used equipment sales, rentals, parts, tools, and service offerings
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and equipment solutions based on customer needs
- Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline management through Salesforce
- Grow existing accounts while identifying opportunities to expand business
- Travel throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel
- Drive new and used equipment sales while promoting rental, parts, and service offerings
- Develop market strategies, identify target accounts, and create territory growth plans
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, pricing, and customer needs
- Maintain sales activity, call reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates in Salesforce
- Resolve customer concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Maintain professional industry knowledge through training, networking, and industry events
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer solutions and support
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of outside sales experience with a proven track record of new business development
- 3 to 5+ years of outside sales experience in commercial truck, utility equipment, heavy equipment, construction equipment, vocational equipment, fleet leasing, or related industries
- Experience in commercial trucks, utility equipment, construction equipment, heavy equipment, equipment rental, fleet services or leasing, agricultural equipment, or vocational truck sales
- Demonstrated success developing new business and growing territory revenue
- Strong prospecting, cold-calling, and relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, organizational, and computer skills
- Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce
- Knowledge of aerial equipment, utility equipment, commercial vehicles, or construction equipment preferred
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently from a home office
- Professional appearance and customer-focused approach
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel extensively within the territory, including up to 50% travel and occasional overnight travel
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
