About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manipulate, analyse and interpret datasets to provide insights and recommendations
Work with the Head of Product to size opportunities before development and measure shipped product impact
Design and interpret A/B tests and feature rollouts
Analyse behavioural data using funnel analysis and event tracking
Connect app behaviour with policy, pricing and claims data
Analyse pricing, business and product performance
Identify trends, opportunities and areas requiring deeper investigation
Analyse claims and loss ratio to understand risk and commercial impact
Own metric definitions and contribute to the semantic layer
Collaborate with BI and Data Engineering colleagues on analytical and data projects
Drive self-serve analytics through stakeholder coaching, dashboards, metrics and documentation
Support the Product team in launching and iterating new products and features

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience working with data in the insurance industry, ideally within personal lines and preferably motor
Strong statistical reasoning, including understanding assumptions and limitations
Strong commercial mindset connecting analysis to business performance, customer outcomes and commercial decisions
Highly proficient in SQL and Python for analysis, modelling and problem solving
Ability to work confidently with complex datasets and join information from different sources
Strong stakeholder management skills
Excellent communication skills
Comfortable collaborating across BI, Data Engineering, Product, Pricing and other teams
Experience as a Data Analyst, Pricing Analyst, Data Scientist, BI Analyst or similar analytical role
Interest in new approaches to data, including data science and AI
Ability to independently take an ambiguous business problem from question through analysis and recommendation
Experience with experiments, A/B tests or feature rollouts is a bonus
Experience with Mixpanel, Amplitude or GA4 alongside a data warehouse is a bonus
Experience with machine learning models and evaluating their performance and accuracy is a bonus
