About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide clinical support services to long-term care dispensing pharmacies across multiple states
- Perform clinical assessment and intervention on prescribed medication therapy
- Manage rejected clinical claims by requesting covered alternatives from prescribers and updating orders based on responses
- Initiate prior authorizations or medical exceptions using patient medical-record information
- Deliver Medication Therapy Management services to optimize safe and effective medication use
- Generate patient-specific therapeutic interchange requests and update orders based on prescriber responses
- Implement facility formulary preferences for prospective medication changes on dispensing
- Coordinate specific national account or multi-chain customer requests
- Work Monday-Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., every third weekend; no on-call requirement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or higher
- Current license to practice pharmacy in good standing in the state you reside in
- Proficient in clinical interpretation of drug-drug, drug-disease, and drug-food interactions and allergies
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to become licensed in South Carolina
- Willingness to become licensed in additional states as needed
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations, including OBRA, OSHA, state laws, and other federal laws, preferred
- Licensed pharmacist in multiple states, preferred
