About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Medicaid Prior Authorization as a Clinical Pharmacist for Aetna
- Apply evidence-based clinical guidelines and criteria in clinical decision-making
- Utilize formularies and preferred drug lists
- Review medical records and clinical literature
- Compose SOAP notes
- Work in a high-production team environment
- Work the assigned AZ-time shift, scheduled Saturdays, and occasional holidays
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active and unrestricted AZ or TX pharmacist license in good standing
- New hire required to obtain an additional AZ or TX pharmacist license within 90 days of hire
- Experience with clinical decision-making using evidence-based clinical guidelines/criteria
- Experience utilizing formularies/preferred drug lists
- 3+ years of experience working as a pharmacist
- Experience working in a high-production team environment
- Knowledge of clinical program components, formulary designs, and prescription benefit trends
- Medicaid or Medicare experience preferred
- Prior authorization experience preferred
- Experience reviewing medical records and clinical literature preferred
- Experience composing SOAP notes preferred
- BS in Pharmacy or PharmD
- Ability to work 10:00 am–6:30 pm AZ time after training
- Ability to complete 8 weeks of training from 8:00 am–4:30 pm AZ time
- Ability to work one Saturday every 6 weeks and occasional holidays
