About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide routine and emergency comprehensive and accurate drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for long-term care centers
- Ensure medications dispensed are clinically appropriate
- Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy
- Provide accurate and timely drug information to providers and customer facilities
- Check completeness and precision of new and refill labels and orders
- Check content and accuracy of drug packaging and labeling
- Prepare or supervise preparation of sterile IV drug products or solutions as required
- Assist in maintaining perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs
- Follow DEA and state law regarding controlled drug dispensing
- Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
- Follow applicable state and government regulations, including HIPAA
- Contribute to continuous improvement, quality, and service within the pharmacy team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania, active and in good standing
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy
- IV experience preferred
- Long term care experience preferred
- Ability to provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
- Knowledge of DEA and state law regarding controlled drug dispensing
- Ability to follow applicable state and government regulations including HIPAA
- Ability to work Monday-Friday variable shifts, primarily day/mostly evening shifts
- Weekend rotation every third/fourth weekend
