About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide routine and emergency comprehensive and accurate drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services
  • Ensure medications dispensed are clinically appropriate
  • Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy
  • Provide accurate and timely drug information to providers and customer facilities
  • Check completeness and precision of new and refill labels and orders
  • Check content and accuracy of drug packaging and labeling
  • Prepare and/or supervise sterile IV drug products or solutions as required
  • Assist in maintaining perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs
  • Apply DEA and state-law requirements to controlled drug dispensing
  • Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
  • Follow HIPAA and other applicable regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Lead and foster a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service
  • Prioritize pharmacy workflow and provide excellent customer service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania, active and in good standing
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy
  • IV experience preferred
  • Long term care experience preferred
  • Knowledge of DEA and state law regarding controlled drug dispensing
  • Ability to provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
  • Ability to follow applicable state and government regulations, including HIPAA
  • Full-time availability for 33 to 36 hours per week
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday variable shifts, primarily day/mostly evening shifts
  • Weekend rotation every third/fourth weekend
