About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide telephone-based assessment, triage, consultation, counseling and informational services in a call center environment
Use advanced clinical assessments, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused/short-term problem resolution
Conduct risk, substance abuse, and mental health assessments
Develop immediate action and safety plans based on urgency
Recommend appropriate mental health and substance use levels of care
Understand members’ needs and align with their theory of change
Provide information about mental health, substance abuse, community treatment, and related programs
Link members to resources to alleviate stressors
Collaborate with professional teams to support positive clinical outcomes and continuity of care
Multitask by typing and documenting while using call-handling tools
Protect member confidentiality and follow enterprise and EAP confidentiality policies
Maintain accurate and complete documentation meeting risk management and regulatory requirements
Maintain current independent behavioral health licensure in good standing and meet state licensure requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

1+ years of crisis intervention experience
Valid unrestricted independent professional behavioral health clinical license to practice per state regulations in the state of residence; examples include LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LMHC, LCMHC, LICSW, LISW, or Clinical Psychologist
24x7x365 call center coverage needed; holiday coverage is expected
Experience facilitating patient/client positive behavior change
Separate workspace free from distraction, in a room with a closing door
Hardwired, reliable internet
Home Internet Download Speed minimum of 400mbps and Upload speed between 10-20mbps
Broadband or Fiber connection; DSL (satellite) and cellular internet are not accepted
4-port modem, with the 4th port used for work internet
Preferred: 1+ years of EAP, Behavioral Health or Social Services experience
Preferred: Experience working with diverse populations
Preferred: Familiarity with brief therapy models and Motivational Interviewing
Preferred: Call Center work experience
Ability to establish and maintain rapport quickly to develop a high level of customer trust
Strong computer and literacy skills
Master’s Degree in behavioral health counseling profession
