About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage sales growth by building a book of business through field sales marketing activity and in-home and community-based sales efforts
- Sell Medicare products
- Own the member relationship throughout the year after acquisition
- Serve as primary contact for member inquiries about plan benefits, products, and services
- Resolve member issues related to product utilization
- Prepare and analyze sales forecasts, results reports, presentations, and budget variance analyses
- Support sales revenue target setting and forecasting
- Research market demand
- Support sales teams in evaluating deal scenarios and contract terms
- Collaborate with sales, IT, and finance on reporting requirements and revenue forecasting systems
- Build and maintain client relationships
- Promote sales products and services and summarize progress and critical wins to management
- Analyze market trends to identify sales opportunities
- Develop and implement sales strategies and deliver presentations to stakeholders and management
- Facilitate team meetings and training sessions
- Provide product and service education and training
- Manage customer accounts and resolve issues promptly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve sales goals and targets
- Communicate goals and deliverables to internal team members and senior leadership
- Meet acquisition, conversion, cross-sell, and retention targets
- Contact prospective members within required time limits
- Maintain high member satisfaction
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-5 years work experience
- Working knowledge of problem solving and decision making skills
- Acquisition of new members via engagement in community event activity to generate leads and referrals
- Assessing customer needs for products and services using insightful, probing questions, and demonstrating superior listening skills
- Servicing existing members and inquiries related to product utilization and benefits
- Cross selling ancillary and other applicable products to existing members
- Retention of existing members
- Maintaining knowledge of CMS and state regulations
- Ability to multitask and effectively use a computer while interacting with prospects and members via phone
- Capturing relevant information in the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM)
- Ability to pass annually: AHIP, Continued Education (CEs), Product Certification, Required Security and Compliance, Client/Carrier Certifications, and any required CMS Certifications
- 4-year college degree or 1 to 2 years consumer sales experience
- Life & Health insurance license required within 60 days of employment start date; not required at employment start
- Active computer use for daily job activities
- Ability to multitask while talking on the phone
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Self-starter with positive attitude
- Adaptable to a high-pressure, achievement-oriented environment
- Drive to build, manage, and grow a book of business
- High computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification
