About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the data science and analytics strategy for underwriting transformation software products from problem framing through production deployment
Design and operationalize predictive and scenario-based analytics supporting underwriting, pricing, and risk decisions
Apply time-series, advanced regression, tree-based modeling, forecasting, machine learning, and statistical modeling
Partner with Product Management and Engineering to embed analytics and reporting into core product workflows
Define, track, and report product, operational, and business metrics and OKRs
Establish scalable reporting frameworks and dashboards
Deliver executive-ready insights describing progress, risks, and tradeoffs
Explore emerging technologies, including AI-enabled reporting layers
Facilitate communication across Product, Engineering, Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, and Executive teams
Translate complex analytical insights into actionable narratives
Lead, coach, and develop an organization of decision scientists, analysts, and validation professionals
Define team vision, strategy, goals, priorities, and OKRs
Manage resource planning, workload prioritization, and organizational growth
Provide executive-level communication, reporting, and strategic recommendations

Requirements

What you’ll need

12+ years of experience in analytics, decision science, business intelligence, financial analysis, quality assurance, or data validation
5+ years of experience leading large analytical teams and developing people leaders
Expertise in analytical validation, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, business impact assessment, and financial validation
Ability to analyze and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data
Experience developing self-service reporting solutions and communicating insights from reports and dashboards
Experience validating business outcomes and financial results using large-scale datasets
Advanced SQL and data analysis skills
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills
Preferred: PBM, Healthcare, Underwriting, Pricing, Forecasting, Actuarial, or Financial Analytics experience
Preferred: Experience validating underwriting, forecasting, pricing, or P&L platforms
Preferred: Experience with Databricks, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or similar analytics platforms
Preferred: Experience leading through managers and driving accountability across multi-level data science teams
