About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead software product management for CVS Health’s Security Automation portfolio within Enterprise Information Security
  • Partner with the Lead Director, Security Automation to run an engineering and product portfolio pairing
  • Apply commercial-grade product management to internally built security products
  • Conduct continuous discovery with security operations analysts, GRC and audit teams, identity and infrastructure engineers, application teams, and enterprise colleagues
  • Translate workflow pain into prioritized roadmaps and define product outcomes
  • Own internal go-to-market, enablement, documentation, onboarding, adoption measurement, feedback channels, and product lifecycle decisions
  • Lead, coach, hire, level, and develop a team of product managers
  • Set standards for discovery, problem framing, requirements quality, and outcome measurement
  • Own portfolio strategy, vision, multi-year roadmap, product discovery, adoption, requirements, and engineering delivery partnership
  • Define and instrument adoption, usage, effort reduction, cycle-time reduction, support deflection, and risk-reduction measures
  • Partner on build-versus-buy and commercial evaluations, including market, vendor, licensing, and total-cost-of-ownership analysis
  • Communicate roadmap, tradeoffs, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders, senior leadership, and executive sponsors
  • Own business cases, benefit quantification, ROI, payback analysis, and financial framing for investments
  • Establish and mature product management practices, prioritization mechanisms, discovery standards, roadmap communication, documentation standards, and supporting tools

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 12+ years of experience in technology roles, including 8+ years in software product management
  • 4+ years leading product managers, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development
  • Commercial software or SaaS product management experience strongly preferred; equivalent product rigor from internal-platform or enterprise-IT-only backgrounds
  • Experience owning product strategy and multi-year software product or portfolio roadmaps
  • Strong product discovery practice, including user research, workflow analysis, opportunity sizing, assumption testing, and evidence-based decision making
  • Ability to define, instrument, and report outcome measures including adoption, active usage, effort and cycle-time reduction, support deflection, and retention
  • Track record of driving software product adoption, including quantified examples and responding to stalled adoption
  • Prioritization judgment under constraint, including stakeholder management when declining requests
  • Experience owning requirements definition and delivery partnership with engineering
  • Technical fluency with APIs, data models, software delivery practices, architecture, integration, and feasibility discussions; coding ability not required
  • Experience with build-versus-buy analysis, vendor and market assessment, and total-cost-of-ownership reasoning
  • Ability to influence peers, senior stakeholders, and executives without direct authority
  • Financial acumen including business cases, benefit quantification, ROI, payback analysis, budget, and license cost management
  • Strong written and verbal communication across engineer-to-executive audiences
  • Experience with agile delivery models and modern product and delivery tooling such as Jira, product analytics, roadmap, and discovery tools
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred: developer-facing, platform, or internal-facing software product experience
  • Preferred: security, risk, compliance, or IT operations product domain experience
  • Preferred: workflow automation, integration, or data platform product experience
  • Preferred: AI-enabled or agentic product management experience
  • Preferred: product-led adoption motions
  • Preferred: formal dual-leadership partnership with an engineering leader
  • Preferred: portfolio management across custom-built, commercial, and platform-based products
  • Preferred: product sunsetting or consolidation experience
  • Preferred: highly regulated industry experience, ideally healthcare
  • Preferred: product management practice establishment or maturation experience
  • Preferred: advanced degree or MBA and recognized product management or agile credentials
