About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct concurrent reviews for inpatient admissions and continued stays
Evaluate clinical documentation and determine medical necessity using established guidelines and evidence-based criteria
Collaborate with hospitals, physicians, utilization review departments, and care teams to support appropriate levels of care
Facilitate timely discharge planning and care transitions
Monitor ongoing inpatient treatment and identify opportunities to improve healthcare utilization and outcomes
Communicate recommendations and clinical findings to providers and internal stakeholders
Support effective resource utilization while maintaining quality and compliance standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active, unrestricted RN license with Louisiana licensure or Compact RN licensure
Ability and willingness to obtain additional state licensure as required
5+ years of inpatient clinical nursing experience
Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills
Ability to participate in rotating weekend coverage and holiday on-call schedules
Associates Degree required; Bachelors preferred
Direct/hardwired internet connection to a modem/router within 7 feet of the computer
Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload
WiFi and satellite internet are not permitted
Quiet, secure, private designated home workspace compliant with CVS Health and HIPAA guidelines
Must work within the state and city where currently living
Must provide own workspace furniture
Comfort setting up and using multiple monitors and navigating multiple applications
Ability to use email, calendar invites, Teams messaging, and virtual meetings
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications or similar Google Workspace tools
Ability to access secure systems such as VPN and EHR portals
Ability to manage strong passwords and recognize suspicious emails or links
Ability to troubleshoot common technical issues independently
Openness to learning new skills as the workplace evolves
