About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the clinical relationship with health plan pharmacy support teams, pharmacists, medical directors, CMOs, and senior health plan leaders
  • Manage 2 to 4 market segments, including Medicare, Medicaid, Exchange, or Commercial
  • Proactively manage client priorities, financial targets, clinical goals, and leadership commitments alongside business leads
  • Analyze client data and competitive marketplace conditions to develop and execute business plans supporting profitability and growth
  • Collaborate with clients on competitor analysis and products and services
  • Recommend formulary options, utilization management edits, clinical programs, specialty drug strategies, and benefit design opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal partners and trade partners on custom programs, formularies, and rebate strategies
  • Monitor drug trends, drug pipelines, and fraud, waste, and abuse trends
  • Build trusted consultative partnerships and support client loyalty
  • Conduct provider and member outreach as needed
  • Advise Clinical Benefits Pharmacists and Benefits and Operations teams on client requirements
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
  • Identify client value opportunities and provide consultative recommendations and follow-up
  • Meet or exceed client satisfaction and client value targets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of managed care Pharmacist experience and/or 1 year of Managed Care Residency program
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing
  • Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role within the managed care environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience with utilization management trends and programs within the managed care environment
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proficient analytical ability
  • Effective listening and presentation skills
  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist licensure in at least 1 state
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
