About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
- Serve as a first point of contact for patients and customers
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and pharmacy workflow procedures
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
- Provide caring service at pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off, and over the phone
- Offer immunizations and other services where permitted
- Resolve or escalate patient problems
- Complete inventory activities, including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
- Complete company training and applicable registration, licensing, and certification requirements
- Comply with laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
- Deliver additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where allowed
- Support vaccine preparation and administration where permissible and appropriately trained
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions and report events
- Review and document patient information
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs and travel voluntarily to market stores for shifts
- Perform additional tasks as directed by a Supervisor or Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification
- If no state-mandated minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years of age
- If no state-mandated minimum educational requirement applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
- Must satisfy applicable state-level licensure and national certification requirements
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Active listening skills
- Mathematical reasoning for prescription dispensing calculations
- Problem-resolution ability
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
- Ability to perform repetitive finger movements, reach, stoop, and maintain close visual acuity
- Preferred: 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as needed
