About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for patients and customers
  • Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pickup, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
  • Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide compassionate patient service and resolve or escalate patient problems
  • Offer immunizations and other patient health services at the register and over the phone, where permitted
  • Complete inventory activities including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and waiting-bin inventories
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
  • Travel voluntarily to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed
  • Complete required training and licensing or certification requirements
  • Where permitted, support immunization activities including vaccine preparation and administration, patient education, adverse-reaction response, documentation, and vaccine-supply management
  • Perform any additional tasks directed by a Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state Board of Pharmacy requirements and laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
  • If the state board does not mandate a minimum age, must be at least 16 years old
  • If the state board does not mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements
  • Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Mathematical reasoning for prescription dispensing calculations
  • Ability to resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions
  • Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
  • Preferred: 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Preferred: previous experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market at other locations as needed
