About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for patients and customers
  • Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pickup, drive-thru, and drop-off
  • Help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide empathetic and personalized patient service and resolve or escalate patient problems
  • Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone where permitted
  • Complete inventory activities including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
  • Expand clinical and technical knowledge and respond to feedback
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to market stores for shifts
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethics, and CVS policies
  • Deliver additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where allowed and trained
  • Where permissible, support immunizations by completing required training/licensure, educating patients, monitoring adverse reactions, documenting patient information, and managing vaccine supplies
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years of age
  • If no state minimum educational requirement is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements
  • Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to concentrate and pivot quickly between tasks
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Customer service and team orientation
  • Verbal and written communication skills and active listening
  • Mathematical reasoning for prescription dispensing calculations
  • Problem resolution skills
  • Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, scan, bag, reach, bend, type, and perform repetitive finger movements
  • Close visual acuity for transcription, computer-terminal viewing, and visual inspection
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; frequently lift up to 10 lbs
  • Ability to receive and convey detailed oral information accurately
  • Preferred: 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as needed
