About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
  • Assist patients and customers as a first point of contact
  • Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
  • Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide empathetic and personalized patient service and resolve or escalate patient problems
  • Offer immunizations and other health services at the register and over the phone, where permitted
  • Complete inventory activities including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
  • Expand clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to market stores for shifts
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
  • Deliver additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing where permitted and trained
  • Where permissible, support vaccine preparation and administration, patient education, adverse-reaction monitoring, documentation, and vaccine-supply management
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If no state-mandated minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years of age
  • If no state-mandated minimum educational requirement applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must satisfy applicable state-level licensure and national certification requirements
  • Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Mathematical reasoning for prescription quantities and days’ supply
  • Ability to perform physical demands including standing, lifting, reaching, repetitive hand movements, bending, and close visual work
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs and/or exert up to 20 lbs of force
  • Frequently lift up to 10 lbs and/or exert up to 10 lbs of force
  • Preferred: 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as needed
