About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
- Serve as an initial point of contact for patients and customers
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
- Follow pharmacy workflows at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
- Apply company SOPs and best practices
- Provide caring service, solve or escalate patient problems, and support positive patient experiences
- Perform basic inventory activities, including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
- Expand clinical and technical knowledge and contribute to a high-performing team
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to other market stores for shifts
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
- Deliver additional health care services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics when legally permitted and properly trained
- Where permitted, complete immunizer licensure and training, educate patients about vaccines, monitor adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
- If no state-mandated minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years old
- If no state-mandated minimum educational requirement applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
- Must satisfy applicable state-level licensure and national certification requirements
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Active listening skills
- Mathematical reasoning for prescription quantities and supply calculations
- Problem-resolution ability
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
- Ability to perform required physical tasks, including reaching, lifting, scanning, bagging, repetitive finger movements, stooping, and close visual work
- Preferred: 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market at other locations as needed
