About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
- Assist patients and customers as a first point of contact
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
- Provide empathetic patient service, solve or escalate patient problems, and offer immunizations and other services
- Complete basic inventory activities, including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
- Expand clinical and technical knowledge and contribute to a high-performing team
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs and voluntarily work shifts at other market stores
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
- Deliver additional healthcare services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where legally permitted and properly trained
- When permitted, obtain Technician Immunizer status, prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, monitor adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must comply with applicable state Board of Pharmacy requirements and laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
- If no state-mandated minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years old
- If no state-mandated minimum educational requirement applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
- Must complete required training within the designated timeframe
- Must satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
- Ability to use mathematics to determine quantities, days' supply, and bottles for prescriptions
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with patients and colleagues
- Ability to concentrate, multitask, pivot quickly, and resolve problems
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
- Preferred: 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
