About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
Assist patients and customers as a first point of contact and provide exceptional service
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately according to SOPs and best practices
Provide empathetic and personalized patient service, solve or escalate patient problems, and offer immunizations and other services where permitted
Complete inventory activities including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to market stores for shifts
Comply with pharmacy laws, controlled substance requirements, patient privacy, and security policies
Deliver additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where legally permitted and appropriately trained
Where permitted, obtain Technician Immunizer status, prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, monitor adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
Perform additional tasks as directed by a Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
If no state-mandated minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years old
If no state-mandated minimum educational requirement applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
Must complete required training within the designated timeframe
Must have regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Ability to use math for prescription dispensing calculations
Ability to follow federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently
State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
