About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for patients and customers
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Support safe, prompt, and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Provide caring service at pickup, drive-thru, over the phone, and at the register
  • Offer immunizations and other patient health care services where allowable by law and supported by training and certification
  • Solve or escalate patient problems
  • Complete inventory activities, including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories
  • Expand clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to market stores for shifts
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
  • Support Technician Immunizer duties where permissible, including vaccine preparation and administration, patient education, adverse-reaction monitoring, documentation, and vaccine supply management
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years of age
  • If no state minimum educational requirement is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must satisfy applicable state-level licensure and national certification requirements
  • Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Mathematical reasoning for prescription quantities and day supply
  • Ability to resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions
  • Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting (preferred)
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
