About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Follow company SOPs at each workstation to support pharmacists and improve patient health
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off
  • Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide empathetic and personalized service to patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
  • Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone where permitted
  • Solve or escalate patient problems
  • Complete inventory activities, including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories
  • Contribute to a high-performing, safe, inclusive, and engaging pharmacy team
  • Travel voluntarily to stores in the market to work shifts as business needs require
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
  • Support additional health care services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where permitted and properly trained
  • For technician immunizer duties: complete additional licensure and training, educate patients about vaccines, monitor and report adverse reactions, collect and document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If no state-mandated minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years of age
  • If no state-mandated minimum educational requirement applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements
  • Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Ability to use mathematics for prescription dispensing calculations
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to perform required physical activities, including standing, lifting, scanning, bagging, reaching, repetitive finger movements, stooping, and close visual work
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; frequently lift up to 10 lbs
  • Preferred: 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as needed
