About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for patients and customers
  • Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
  • Provide compassionate patient service, solve or escalate patient problems, and offer immunizations and other services where applicable
  • Complete inventory activities including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
  • Travel voluntarily to other stores in the market to work shifts as business needs require
  • Deliver additional health care services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where permitted and trained
  • Where permissible, support immunization activities including vaccine preparation and administration, patient education, adverse-reaction response, documentation, and vaccine-supply management
  • Any additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
  • If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years of age
  • If no state minimum educational requirement is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must complete required company training within the designated timeframe
  • Must have regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Ability to use mathematics for prescription dispensing calculations
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to perform physical duties including standing, lifting, scanning, bagging, reaching, repetitive finger movements, stooping, and close visual work
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; frequently lift up to 10 lbs
  • Preferred: 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Preferred: previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
