About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling patient prescriptions
Deliver compassionate care and service to patients and customers
Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks
Ensure medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met
Maintain professional and ethical standards and comply with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate ethical conduct
Complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program if new to the role
Build clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training
Work in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be at least 16 years of age
Licensure requirements vary by state
Ability to concentrate on tasks without distraction
Customer service orientation and ability to respond appropriately to customers
Verbal and written communication skills
Active listening skills
Mathematical reasoning, including calculating prescription day’s supply
Problem-resolution skills
Ability to remain upright and move about on foot for sustained periods
Ability to perform frequent hand and finger movements, typing, reaching, bending, stooping, and related physical tasks
Ability to accurately communicate and receive detailed spoken instructions
Close visual acuity for transcribing, viewing computer terminals, and inspecting small parts
Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs; exerting up to 30 lbs occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs frequently
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting preferred
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
PTCB National Certification preferred
High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
Must satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to the State Board of Pharmacy guidelines
