About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for patients and customers
  • Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Fulfill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately across production, pickup, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
  • Provide empathetic, personalized patient service and resolve or escalate patient problems
  • Offer immunizations and other services where permitted
  • Complete inventory activities including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
  • Expand clinical and technical knowledge and respond to feedback
  • Maintain scheduling flexibility and voluntarily travel to nearby market stores for shifts as needed
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethics, and CVS policies
  • Deliver additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics when legally permitted and appropriately trained
  • Where permitted, obtain Technician Immunizer status and support vaccine preparation and administration
  • Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty
  • Monitor and respond to adverse vaccine reactions and report events
  • Review and collect patient information and maintain documentation
  • Monitor and manage vaccine supplies
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws governing age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years old
  • If no state minimum education is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must satisfy applicable state-level licensure and national certification requirements
  • Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Ability to use mathematics for prescription dispensing calculations
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to complete physical duties including standing, lifting, scanning, bagging, reaching, repetitive finger movements, bending, and close visual work
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs and frequently lift up to 10 lbs
  • Preferred: 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store and across other market locations as needed
