About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
- Serve as an initial point of contact for patients and customers
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pickup, drive-thru, and drop-off
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
- Provide empathetic, personalized, and compassionate patient service
- Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone, where permitted
- Solve or escalate patient problems
- Complete inventory activities, including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and waiting-bin inventories
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team and respond to feedback
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to market stores for shifts
- Comply with laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
- Deliver additional healthcare services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where allowed and appropriately trained
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status where applicable
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions and report events as required
- Review and collect patient information and track applicable patient documentation
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies
- Perform additional tasks as directed by a Supervisor or Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification
- If no state-mandated minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years old
- If no state-mandated minimum educational requirement applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
- Must satisfy applicable state-level licensure and national certification requirements
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between tasks
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy

- Mathematical reasoning for prescription dispensing calculations

- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently

- Close visual acuity for transcription, computer-terminal viewing, and visual inspection
- Ability to accurately convey and receive detailed oral instructions
- Preferred: 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience
- Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market at other locations as needed
