About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for patients and customers
  • Follow standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Fulfill prescriptions safely, promptly, and accurately across production, pickup, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
  • Provide empathetic customer service and resolve or escalate patient problems
  • Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone where applicable
  • Complete inventory activities, including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories
  • Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, professional standards, ethics, and CVS policies
  • Deliver additional health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted and trained
  • Support vaccine preparation and administration where permitted, including patient education, adverse-reaction monitoring, documentation, and vaccine-supply management
  • Travel voluntarily to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
  • If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years of age
  • If no state minimum educational requirement is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements
  • Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Ability to use mathematics for prescription fulfillment calculations
  • Ability to perform required physical tasks, including standing, lifting, reaching, repetitive finger movements, bending, and close visual work
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
  • 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting (preferred)
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs (preferred)
