About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
  • Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures for safe, accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Assist patients at pickup, drive-thru, drop-off, and over the phone
  • Provide empathetic customer service and resolve or escalate patient problems
  • Complete inventory activities, including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
  • Contribute to a high-performing, safe, inclusive, and engaging team
  • Travel voluntarily to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
  • Deliver additional services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where legally permitted and appropriately trained
  • If authorized, prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, monitor adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
  • Complete required company training and registration, licensing, and certification requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
  • If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years old
  • If no state minimum education is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must satisfy applicable state-level licensure and national certification requirements
  • Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Mathematical reasoning for prescription dispensing calculations
  • Ability to work in the home store and across market locations as needed
  • Ability to perform the stated physical demands, including standing/upright mobility, lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
  • Preferred: 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
