About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks
- Support the team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling patient prescriptions
- Provide caring service that exceeds customer expectations
- Maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
- Ensure medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met
- Demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality
- Complete CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program requirements when applicable
- Build clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training
- Serve and care for patients and customers in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Licensure requirements vary by state
- Must satisfy all registration, licensing and certification requirements according to the State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines
- Must complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program if new to pharmacy technician work
- Attention and focus: ability to concentrate on tasks without distraction
- Customer service orientation
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Active listening skills
- Mathematical reasoning, including calculating prescription day supply
- Problem resolution and judgment skills
- Ability to remain upright and move about on foot for sustained periods
- Manual dexterity for picking, pinching, typing, and related tasks
- Ability to extend hands and arms, bend, stoop, and use lower extremities and back muscles
- Ability to communicate spoken instructions accurately and hear detailed information
- Close visual acuity for transcription, computer terminal viewing, and reading small parts
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs and exerting up to 30 lbs of force occasionally or up to 10 lbs frequently
- Previous pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service experience preferred
- Previous Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
- PTCB National Certification preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
