About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
- Assist patients and customers as a first point of contact and provide exceptional service
- Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
- Create personalized patient experiences, provide compassionate care, and solve or escalate patient problems
- Offer immunizations and other patient services at the register and over the phone where permitted
- Complete basic inventory activities, including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
- Expand clinical and technical knowledge and contribute to a high-performing team
- Travel voluntarily to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
- Deliver additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where allowable and properly trained
- Where permissible, complete immunizer licensing and training, prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, monitor adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
- Complete the company training program and satisfy registration, licensing, and certification requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
- If no state-mandated minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years of age
- If no state-mandated minimum educational requirement applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
- Must complete required training within the designated timeframe
- Must have regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
- Ability to use mathematics for prescription dispensing calculations
- Ability to complete required registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to the State Board of Pharmacy guidelines
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including every third weekend
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as needed
- Ability to meet the listed physical demands, including standing, lifting, reaching, repetitive finger movements, bending, and close visual acuity
- Preferred: 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience
- Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
