Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver compassionate care to pharmacy patients and customers
Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks
Support the team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling patient prescriptions
Maintain professional and ethical standards and comply with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
Ensure medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met
Demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality
Provide caring service that exceeds customer expectations
Complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and progressively expand duties after satisfying requirements
Build clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be at least 16 years of age
Licensure requirements vary by state
Must complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program as a new Pharmacy Technician
Must satisfy all registration, licensing and certification requirements according to the State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
Customer service orientation
Verbal and written communication skills
Active listening skills
Mathematical reasoning, including calculating a prescription’s day supply
Problem resolution and judgment skills
Ability to remain upright and on feet for sustained periods
Ability to move about on foot between work areas
Finger dexterity for picking, pinching, typing, or similar tasks
Ability to extend hands and arms in any direction
Ability to bend, stoop, and use lower extremities and back muscles
Ability to convey and receive detailed spoken instructions accurately
Close visual acuity for transcribing, viewing computer terminals, and inspecting small parts
Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs and exerting up to 30 lbs of force
Preferred: previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Preferred: previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Preferred: PTCB National Certification
High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
