About the role

- Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks
- Support the team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling patient prescriptions
- Provide caring service that exceeds customer expectations
- Maintain professional and ethical standards and comply with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
- Take steps to ensure medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met
- Demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality
- Build clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge and expertise through available tools and training
- Complete required training and expand Pharmacy Technician duties after satisfying registration, licensing, and certification requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Licensure requirements vary by state
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
- Customer service orientation, including helping people in a friendly manner and responding appropriately to customers’ reactions
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Active listening skills
- Mathematical reasoning, including calculating a prescription’s day supply
- Problem resolution and judgment in complex situations
- Must complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program as a new Pharmacy Technician
- Must satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to the applicable State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
- Ability to remain upright and move about on foot for sustained periods
- Ability to perform frequent finger-based work, hand and arm extension, bending, stooping, and spoken communication
- Close visual acuity for transcribing, viewing computer terminals, and reading small parts
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs and exerting up to 30 lbs of force
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting preferred
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
- PTCB National Certification preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
