About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Follow company SOPs at each workstation to support pharmacists and improve patient health
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off
  • Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide empathetic and personalized service to patients at pick-up, drive-thru, register, and over the phone
  • Offer immunizations and other services where permitted
  • Solve or escalate patient problems
  • Complete inventory activities, including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team and contribute to a safe, inclusive, high-performing team
  • Travel voluntarily to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
  • Support additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics when permitted and properly trained
  • Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status where applicable
  • Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions and report events
  • Review and collect patient information and document applicable patients
  • Monitor and manage vaccine supplies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state Board of Pharmacy requirements and laws, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
  • If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years of age
  • If no state minimum educational requirement is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Must satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements
  • Must have regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Mathematical reasoning for prescription quantities and days’ supply
  • Ability to resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions
  • Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
  • Preferred: 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Preferred: Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as needed
