About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
  • Serve as a first point of contact for patients and customers
  • Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
  • Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide caring, empathetic, and personalized patient service
  • Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone, where permitted
  • Solve or escalate patient problems
  • Complete inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
  • Contribute to a high-performing, safe, inclusive, and engaging team
  • Expand clinical and technical knowledge and respond to feedback
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to market stores for shifts
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
  • Deliver additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where legally permitted and appropriately trained
  • Where permitted, complete immunizer licensure and training, educate patients about vaccines, monitor adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If no state-mandated minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years old
  • If no state-mandated minimum educational requirement applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Must satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between tasks
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Customer service, team orientation, active listening, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Mathematical reasoning for prescription quantities and supplies
  • Problem-resolution skills
  • Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
  • Ability to perform reaching, stooping, repetitive finger movements, precision-control, visual-acuity, and other physical tasks
  • Preferred: 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Preferred: Previous experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service
  • Ability to work in the home store and across other market locations as needed
